Whisky Distillery Private Charter
Departing from Ballycastle we offer bespoke private charters to the Isle of Islay Scotland.
Take a trip from Northern Ireland to a Scottish Island and back all in one day.
The Isle of Islay is the southernmost island of the Inner Southern Hebrides of Scotland and lies in Argyll and Bute. The Isle of Jura, the Kintyre peninsula and Northern Ireland are Islay’s neighbours. The proper pronunciation for Islay is Eye-la.
Islay is famous for its single malt whisky and has nine working distilleries on the island, making the single malt whisky industry one of the most important sources of income for the island. Famous names like Bruichladdich, Bowmore, Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain and Ardbeg are the established brands and well known all over the world.
There are three whisky distilleries which you can visit on this trip, Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig.
Please see their websites for more information on tours and to plan your itinerary on Islay. Our price includes our private charter only and not entrance to whisky distillery tours.
You will disembark at Ardbeg and be picked up from the harbour at Port Ellen for your return to Ballycastle. The distances between the distilleries are 20-30 minutes walking or 3-10 minutes by taxi. See images of map for details.
