Frequently asked Questions

How much will it cost?

The starting price for a Sea Safari is £35 per person based on a group of six. Our River Bann tours start at £40 per person and Lough Neagh tours start at £45 per person.

Some trips are priced individually and trips outside Northern Ireland will have an additional transport fee in order to get the boat to the leaving area.

Our trips are mainly Private Charters so there is a minimum charge for 6 or 8 passengers per charter.

How do I book a trip?

You can call us on +44(0)7845 370 231 to make enquiries or book a trip.

Upon booking you will be asked for a deposit of £100 per boat for a private charter on the River Bann, Lough Neagh or Sea Safari. This is not refundable in the case of cancellations or no shows. We will do our best to work with you if you need to postpone the trip due to circumstances beyond your control.

What if the Skipper cancels the trip?

Skippers may cancel a trip at their discretion. This may be due to unsafe weather conditions. In this case an alternative date for the trip will be offered and if this is unsuitable a full refund will be issued.

How many people can I bring on the boats?

RHIB Endurance is coded for 10 passengers and RHIB Stormborn is coded for 12 passengers.

What is provided onboard?

  • Lifejackets
  • Personal Buoyancy Aids for swimming
  • Refreshments on some charters
  • Picnics can be arranged

What can I bring onboard?

You can bring onboard a small picnic and refreshments and our Skipper will help you store them safely until needed. We do ask that you do not bring glassware or sharp objects onboard for safety reasons. If planning to swim, you will need to bring your own wetsuit/swimwear and towel. We advise passengers to bring as few personal belongings onboard as possible. Bringing personal items onboard is done so at passengers own risk. Abhainn Cruises cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal items. Please bear in mind that you will be on the water and whilst the majority of passengers only experience a light mist of sea spray, splashes from waves are possible and you and your belongings may get wet.

Health & Safety

RHIB tours are NOT recommended for pregnant women, infants, people with back problems, people who have had recent surgery or who are classed as obese. Passengers must listen carefully to the health and safety briefing and adhere to all rules and instructions onboard. Passengers must sit astride jockey seats and hold on to bars at all times during the movement of the vessel. Failure to do so can result in injury. Please remember you are on a moving vessel at sea. Life jackets/buoyancy aids must be worn at all times. No glassware is allowed onboard and no smoking. See our Terms & Conditions for more details and to make sure the experience will suit everyone in your group.

What time of year do you operate?

All year round. During winter while seas may be rougher we can still provide River Bann Tours.

What if it rains?

RHIB Endurance has a canopy to protect you from rain and strong sunlight, with removable clear sides which do not impede your view. We let you decide whether you want the see through sides down or not. In colder weather we also use a portable heater to keep our passengers warm and comfortable.

RHIB Stormborn has an enclosed cabin with heater for your comfort. The rear outside seating area can also be enclosed with a canopy.
