Inishtrahull Sea Safari2020-09-03T17:58:27+01:00

Project Description

Inishtrahull Sea Safari

Departing from Ballycastle Marina we take in the whole Causeway Coast including Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Kinbane Head, Dunluce Castle, the Giant’s Causeway and Whiterocks Beach.

We cruise past the Bar Mouth at Coleraine and continue to the spectacular Mussenden Temple.

After passing the headland of Innishowen, Malin Head, which is Ireland’s most northerly point, we land at the uninhabited island of Inishtrahull, a designated protected area due to its wildlife.

Made of 1.7 billion year old Paleoproterozoic rock, it is the oldest known rock on the Irish islands. It is an interesting geological, biological, and historical site, not to mention stunning.

Inishtrahull is home to many unusual birds, grey seals, and basking sharks in the summer months. You may bring a picnic or one can be provided.
